Localisation of the interface

Texts used in the interface of the website are described in the interface.txt file in the localisation folder. For example, loc/ru/interface.txt — Russian interface localisation.

Format of the file interface.txt:

title : Unicode character table
search : Character search
find : Find
example : Example
example_text : hammer and sickle
about : About

First a key of the phrase, then the translation.

To translate the interface of the website into a new language you have to copy loc/en/interface.txt to the folder of your language and translate the strings after the colon.

Line breaks are not allowed (if you need a long text - see the next item). Lines beginning with # are comments and are ignored. Blank lines are also ignored.

You can use placeholders in your phrases (e.g. %s).

For example:

search_total: Total: %s

This phrase shows the number of characters that were found on the search page. %s is replaced by this number. When you translate phrases like this, you should keep the placeholder and put it to the correct part of the sentence.
