Draw My Life presents a child’s perception of migration and exile through anonymised drawings and data.

Our aim is to use this data to raise awareness about the impact of migration on children’s lives among campaigners, researchers, and the wider public; and in particular to advocate for psychological and therapeutic support for children who have experienced trauma.

How we will realise this aim

  • by enabling NGOs working with refugee children to upload the children’s drawings and quickly add important information about age, gender, mood - as well as the child’s own story.
  • by building tools to manage and expose the drawings and data we collect, through existing interfaces such as the Humanitarian Data Exchange and through DML's own public channels *
  • by designing a public-facing online Campaign Tool to (1) drive traffic to the Destination Unknown campaign; and (2) for potential white-label and use by partners such as Terre des Hommes.
  • by contributing unique data on the psychological health of refugee children to UNOCHA’s Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX), for use by NGOs, governments, and media.
  • by sharing our work and reaching out to new partners via the DML Team Website.
