Hello and welcome to Decentraland, a virtual world that is populated, owned, and operated by its users. To get started, all you need is a decent graphics card, current browser and suitable internet connection. Go to play.decentraland.org. Jump in, make friends at nightclubs, play games, or experience festivals at any of the 90,000 adjacent LAND parcels.
Because Decentraland is an open source project, the code belongs to everyone. Since its architecture is built on censorship-resistant smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain, no mega-corporation can pull the plug and lock out its users. With a decentralized Peer to Peer (P2P) file system, all of the digital assets are more secure and robust.
