User guide

  1. Creating a new map

  2. Start by selecting Create new map from the welcome screen.

  3. In the next screen upload your file by dropping it on the dropzone. Alternatively, you can click on the dropzone to open the normal file browser, and search for your file there. You can give a name to the new map layer here, or later in the Layer-menu.

  4. If you uploaded a spreadsheet file, select the necessary location fields in the last screen of the import wizard. If the location data is not in WGS84 format, select the correct projection from the dropdown menu.

  5. Press Make a map and start visualizing!

  6. The editor menu
The menu is located on the right side of the screen. Click on any menu element to expand the menu.

  7. Layers
Add, remove, customize and reorder layers on the map

  8. Colors
Edit the colors of map elements. Fill color, borders, opacity...

  9. Symbols
Edit the symbols on a symbol map. Symbol type, size, shape...

  10. Filters
Add, edit and remove the dynamic data filters on the map

  11. Legend
Edit the data shown on the map legend

  12. Clustering
If your data contains a large number of points, use clustering to improve map performance. Different clustering options, such as style and pop-up information are edited here.

  13. Pop-ups
Edit the different pop-ups that are shown on the map: what data is shown, how the pop-up is opened.

  14. Download
Download the map either as a .png image or .mmap JSON file, that can be later opened again in MakeMaps
