The collection, especially the Political Collection, provides invaluable information for Professor Melvyn Goldstein's marvelous four volumes work A History of Modern Tibet. It includes interviews to various persons relevant to this period of history from different ethnic group, location, backgrounds, political attitude and social stratum. The majority of the interviewees are Tibetan, and some are Chinese; so do the languages of interviews. The collection is the English translation by Goldsein's team. With oral history as an important compliment, Professor Melvyn Goldstein tried to present and interpretate the modern Tibet history from diversified perspectives. Now he and his team decide to publish the raw materials to the academic circle. Hopefully more researchs can benefit from them.
