Dear @dlech and @laurensvalk,

Please see the Birthday Candle Blower for your review. It is a cute robot my dad @TheVinhLuong102 and I made for mom's birthday. She loved it!

Thank you very much!

Thank you Ariana, this looks great! And belated happy birthday to Mom :)

This design uses pieces beyond just the SPIKE Prime set, right? We've been thinking to have a remix category for this kind of project. But that's still in its early stages, so it might be a while before we could merge it.

Or is it perhaps possible to modify the design slightly so it can be built with only pieces in the 45678 or 51515 kit? If it can be built with one kit, even more people can build it and celebrate a birthday this way 🍰 !

Hi @laurensvalk, thank you for the quick response!

Yes, our Birthday Bot projects are most likely to belong to the remix category, especially the Candle Blower and the Cake Cutter, as they have to satisfy certain physical performance criteria -- e.g. fan making strong enough wind, arm holding the cutting knife firmly enough -- that are hard to meet with just the pieces in the respective sets. We're borrowing special pieces and large gears across not only the EV3 + Prime + Inventor sets, but also other Technic sets such as the Bucket Wheel Excavator.

(btw -- digressing -- re: the Cake Cutter, @AntoniLuongPham and I are trying the refine the design to make it more robust and safer, e.g. operating a plastic knife instead of a metallic one. More on that in a later PR.)

We should definitely take the time to organize these projects properly before merging. @AntoniLuongPham @ArianaLuongPham and I just want to start submitting these PRs so that: (i) we commit our thinking and design to code and docs before moving on to new models; and (ii) there're concrete projects for all of us to stare at and organize. :)

Re: the build instructions, what digital design software would you recommend that we use? I know there are a diverse bunch (LDD, LeoCAD, Bricklink Studio, Bricksmith, etc.) but we have no experience with any of them. Which one is your favourite?

Thank you @laurensvalk!

Vinh
