chore: apply eslint + prettier auto-fixes to whole codebase

Motivation

• Apply libraries that were added in chore: pre-commit hooks for code style and commit message quality #66 and chore: set up eslint #69 to the whole codebase at once so that new contributors won't find that their 1 line changes modify many more lines than they expected. Otherwise, those libraries would only be helping with new files.

Changes

• Sits on commits from chore: set up eslint #69 and chore: set up + document commitizen-cli for authoring clear commit messages #68 , those should be reviewed/merged first.
• Ran yarn run format, and committed the result.
• Temporarily permitting unused variables to just warn instead of error to avoid making this diff any larger. We can change the warning level in the future ( see
