Hi Ryan

Thanks for this change. It's hard to review because the reformatting means
the GitHub diff shows that virtually every line has changed, and I the
individual commit comments don't point me to which commits have the
relevant changes.

Please can you give me some pointers as to which bits have changed, other
than formatting.
