FT8
FT8 application allows to work in FT8/FT4 without external PC.
App has five (5) bottom buttons:
- Show - show only CQ or all messages
- Mode - FT8 or FT4
- TX - enable or disable TX
- Auto - auto generates answers for incoming messages
- CQ modifier - allow to add/edit/remove CQ modifier (EU/SOTA/POTA/etc)
FT8/FT4 frequencies for each band is hardcoded within application.
Use BAND buttons to switch for lower/upper band. Use right encoder to change TX frequency within the band. Rotate MFK encoder to select message in the table, press it to make an answer.
Before using TX you should configure your callsign and your Controls#app-button.
FT8/FT4 is very sensitive to device time accuracy. You can connect to WiFi network to synchronize time with NTP.
Note: application limits TX power to 5W to prevent damage of the device.
- Press TX CQ button. Message with next TX text will appear.
- On new time slot, device will start transmitting message
- To stop transmitting - press TX CQ button
- After transmitting application will listen for incoming messages. If there are no answers - CQ message will be repeated.
- If someone will answer your message - application will start QSO with this operator.
- Select CQ message using MFK encoder and press encoder.
- Message will be sent at next time slot.
After ending QSO it will be saved to database and adi file on DATA partition. File name is ft_log.adi
. This file might be used to upload your QSOs to logging program/service.
Stations you already worked (from database) marks with dark green background.
Station you already worked on current mode and band additionally marks with strikethrough.
To import your log to database - copy your ADI file to DATA partition of SD card and rename it toincoming_log.adi
. Application will import QSOs from ADI file to the internal database on next boot.
