The Routing settings are where all of the "rules" Cruiser uses to plot a route are located. With the internal BRouter routing engine, a powerful set of options are available to tailor your ride.

The default Routing options may work for you - but you can easily change them if you wish to keep clear of motorways, tolls, ferries or even cities. The type of roads on your journey will determine how Cruiser plots the route, so a little experimentation of the values may be required.

In order to see all of the routing settings, you will need to enable "Extended settings" in the "Application" menu.

Here's the "Curvy" route setting which has a strong avoidance of motorways, with other roads having varying degrees of "avoid" level:

The notion of "Curvy" vs "Fast" can be explained by a simple A-to-B route that might be taken on a motorway under normal circumstances but happens to have a selection of Primary/Secondary roads running almost parallel to it. These roads may not be as straight (or "boring") as the motorway and offer a more thrilling ride.
