Honestly I'm not sure what I'm doing with python packaging, but I was unable to setup a package build for the git version of this on Archlinux with the current path setup. It would just throw errors about modules not being defined. This arrangement allows everything to work and the resulting system install to function.
I'm currently hacking this change into the build at packaging time, but it seems like if it is a correct fix it ought to go here. If it's not the correct fix then we should figure out what it should be.
