This is the current roadmap for GC Notify. More information about work in progress can be found on the teams agile board.
Our focus is on scaling the use of text messages, improving notification creation tools, enhancing our continuous security posture, and improving our product reporting.
We've seen growth in the demand from our clients for sending text message notifications. We need to be able to understand this new demand, and scale our infrastructure, UI and operating model to meet these new client needs.

Key results
- Get as close as possible to 100% bilingual for client-facing content.
- We have a process in place to fix untranslated content as we find them.
- We fix 100% of the critical a11y compliance requirements.
- We have incorporated bilingualism and accessibility into our review process
- We're ready to get an external a11y audit
- Conduct testing to identify critical usability issues.
- We have resolved 100% of the critical usability issues.
- Allow recipients to unsubscribe - Users should be able to unsubscribe from receiving messages from a service. Some services manage lists that the recipient should be removed from.
- Evaluate sending SMS messages outside of Canada - GC Notify has been designed and tested for sending SMS messages to recipients in Canada, but it is possible to send messages to recipients in other countries. We will investigate the current limitations and evaluate expanding Notify beyond Canada.
- Improve message quality - Without introducing bottlenecks, make it easy for our clients to compose better messages.
- Increase SMS sending rate - Find an alternative to a GOC short code, with the goal of increasing the SMS sending rate and possibly increase confidence in the message origin.
