At the low-point of the Great Decline, powerful wild mages (some no longer calling themselves druids) sought to re-establish a connection with the Fey.

While all major gateways to the Fey have been closed, tiny doorways (some no bigger than an ant) still exist.

By constructing carved monoliths of stone they attempted to focus and magnify the power of these tiny doorways into something greater.

While they did succeed in harnessing energy for the purposes of crafting, they never regained the full power they had lost.
