\noindent The butterworth filter is a type of linear analog filter designed to have a frequency response as flat as possible in the pass band. As a reminder the transfer function $H(j\omega)$ of a low pass filter of order $n$ is : $$H(j\omega)=\frac{1}{\sum^n_{i=0}a_i\left(\frac{j\omega}{\omega_c}\right)^i}$$
where $\omega_c$ is the cutoff and $a_i$ are chosen to reach the wanted performances. For a butterworth filter the coefficients are given in table \ref{butt}.

\noindent The sallen and key is an electronic filter topology that can be used to implement any linear second order analog filter. This circuit is made with an operational amplifier and 4 passive components. The low pass circuit is given below.

Here is a shunt-feedback amplifier, a basic topology for a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA). The transfer function without considering the noise sources is given by $\frac{V_{out}}{V_{in}}=\frac{1-g_mR_F+j\omega R_FC_{gd}}{1+\frac{R_F}{R_L}j\omega R_FC_{gd}}$. Early and the leakage current are neglected.
