Device node "Value Change on a Zwave JS Value) doesn't retain Command Class

I'm going to assume this is user error as it's the first time I've tried this node. I'm using a Device node and trying to trigger on zwave_js.value_updated.value (Value Change on a Zwave JS Value) and the Command_Class "User Code". After choosing "User Code" from the Command_Class dropdown. every time I close the node the Command_Class reverts to "Association". It then errors out ""Error registering entity.......for dictionary value @ data['command_class']"""

I tried searching for the answer but came up empty. Is this something that I'm doing wrong? What I'm trying to do is trigger on a value in the User Code slot (i.e. 15) to make sure the user code actually made it into the lock. If there is another/better way to do this I'm open to anything.
