The caveats and benefits of cutting the mustard for your web fonts on CSS Font Loading API support.

Compare to previous methods that required a polyfill:

  • limitations with font-synthesis and segmented font-family names
  • Independently/optionally eliminate the need for fonts-loaded guarding classes.
  • browser support differences, most notably Internet Explorer/Edge
