Should the strategic resources be Stockpiled? Or held as deposits?

I believe it provides 1 a day, with a maximum capacity of 1. Regenerated each turn. But I could be wrong.

Did a bit of research...

  1. Once you improve a Resource, you can use it to build any number of units/buildings that needs it
  2. The resource does not diminish, it isn't consumed
  3. There are some resources that can take one resource or another. Like Copper OR Iron
  4. Only cities that are connected to the resource with a trade route (like roads) can make use of the Resource

I've opened up a PR that handles points 1-3. Unsure if this possibly to handle point 4 with Unciv currently. Need something like using Horse as a City-level resource with..

"Only available <with [Horse]> <in this city's connected cities>"

... Or something.

Hmmm there's no concept of "connected to" except for "connected to capital", changing the would be quite a challenge

Merged the PR. Will keep this one open in case we figure out a way to the Civ IV behavior...

  • Strategic Resources are city-level
  • Only become available to other cities if connected by a trade route
