I saw people using ting so I bought a sim. Their support sent the following when I tried to activate.

AFAIK ting was working with 2G as well.
Did you try to activate the simcard and then swap into whidelite?
Asking because I learned to never trust support people. Sometimes they are ignorant or lazy.

Another solution I may pursue is Thingsmobile.

Which according to their website should still cover 2G/GPRS in US

You may also check https://1nce.com/en/pricing/ 2G coverage.
Their plan is quite nice!

I'll check these out. I tried to activate it in a tracfone and then I was going to swap. The tracfone wouldn't work so I gave up. You're right I'll try on another phone I have laying around then swap it.

Does anyone have experience with a specific provider in the US that they know works for sure?

Any luck in finding alternative providers in US?
