this is a open issue for over a year now:
microsoft/vscode-python#11929
microsoft/vscode-python#11729

May be considering removing it from the boilerplate? or a notice in the doc?
it took me a while to pin point the issue as the traceback was obscure.

Hi! Thanks for the info!

We cannot remove this line, because it is really valuable and not everyone runs tests in vscode.
But, docs can be updated for sure! Feel free to send a PR.
