I set up a Gerrit account and an HTTP password. Occasionally, e.g. everytime after an IDEA update, the plugin forgets the password and only shows Error messages:
Failed to get Gerrit changes.: Request not successful. Message: Unauthorized. Status-Code: 401. Content: Unauthorized.
When opening the settings, there still seems to be a password, albeit I se fewer dots than my real password length suggests. As soon as I re-enter the password and save the settings, I can login again. But it gets on my nerves to have to repeat that step ever so often, always fetching the password from my password manager, because it is secure and hence I cannot remember it.

The Gerrit plugin uses IntelliJ infrastructure for storing passwords. Can you please check IntelliJ password settings? You should enable persistent storage there.
Thanks for reporting this upstream. Unfortunately I do not think that I can help you anything with this issue, because this plugin depends an a working IntelliJ password infrastructure.
Please keep this ticket up to date, because it might also help other users.
