Guys! Please have a look at this article, it has some best practices on making this thing happen http://nicoespeon.com/en/2013/04/building-a-multinlingual-jekyll-blog/ |
Issue with that is, seems to require a plugin? http://sylvain.durand.tf/multilingual-website-with-jekyll/ seems better, as it uses vanilla jekyll 😃 Less messing with branches ... |
It looks great. Thanks for sharing this mate. 👍 |
I've been stuck on other things, would be great to get this going, as I think getting the English version of the site is important ... especially for Google juice, and "findability" for non-Tamil typing users. |
It seems current _layout thing needs some restructuring as you have to change many instances when you want to change something on the header. We may need to restructure the layout with header and footer and stuff to make it easy to update. Another thing, that site lack some meta stuff, such as keywords, and some proper description for discoverability of the site. Having them in place, will make Google to google us, put it on top. I'll be having some testing with this article on later time. Will update the progress on my vasantham branch. :) |
Yes, definitely needs all those improvements - can you raise your ideas as individual issues? Cheers 🍺 |
Research if it is possible to create a fork and localise it to Tamil.
