Mike Versioning

How can I setup mike versioning on my GitHub Docs?

Dear @opensource-coder909,

have you done anything to get started? It is a bit difficult to know what to say other than have a look at the documentation, both the page in the Material documentation and the Mike documentation, then perhaps set up a playground and figure out what you are struggling with. If you ask such a general question it sounds bit like "please do my work for me".

Thank you @alexvoss and @niclasheinz for your quick response. I am new to GitHub and mkdocs-material and have been a bit overwhelmed. I've already looked at the documentation but still couldn't get it right. I thought asking the community would be a sensible step before investing too much time in it unnecessarily (I'm not from a computer science background and just want to make nice documentation for my employer.

And I'm sorry for wasting your time. I should have searched better before.

I use the Github action from this link https://squidfunk.github.io/mkdocs-material/publishing-your-site/#with-github-actions

My question is how to use this with mike versioning? Do I change this line - run: mkdocs gh-deploy --force to be mike deploy [version] instead? The rest makes sense to me, at least for the most part, it is just this action CI that I am not sure what to do with. Thanks in advance!

I changed it to this and it worked. For anyone else in the future.

- run: mike deploy --push --update-aliases 2.8.0 latest
