Developing new technologies to understand a frozen world ๐ฆ๐ถ.
I'm a postgraduate student researcher at the University of Cape Town developing new electronic embedded systems for research and exploration of Antarctica.
My current work focuses on developing small to medium scale power systems for radar, communications, and other in-situ applications, and is done under the scope of a PhD degree. I release my designs and software publicly in the spirit of science, helping new polar engineers, and for the greater benefit of the Earth.
My work is largely supported through scholarships funded by the UCT African Robotics Unit and UCT MARiS research groups, as well as the South African National Research Foundation. Any supplementary support via channels like GitHub affords me the time to further support the open hardware and software aspects of my projects.
