Here are the ideas behind the project:

  • Enable developers to start creating compressed data from scratch
  • Allow the use of well-tested, composable libraries
  • Code should be easy to read and understand, and applicable to various types of data

Who are we?

  • We are just a set of volunteers who meet up and decided to take this project to fruition.
  • We are otherwise just regular software engineers and we decided to contribute.

What are we looking forward in Volunteers:

  • We are looking for volunteers who not only wish to learn, but also contribute back to the community.
  • We wish that the volunteers who work on this (apart from ourselves) get paid for it, and they can use this
    experience to help them find internships and quality work.
  • We wish to involve volunteers from a very diverse background, get them involved in the project and technology in general.

What are we looking for in Sponsors, and why?

  • Interested sponsors could start using these libraries by sponsoring the candidates to implement these libraries for them, in a language of their choice.
  • Otherwise, Interested sponsors are willing to fund community driven development, as a way of giving back.

Initially, we wish to fund 2 developers around 5 hours a week, for at least 20 hours a month, at a minimum rate of $50 an hour.
