There are 3 options under the section "Placement of content":
Footnotes placement
Colophon/metadata placement
Rear cover placement
The exact meaning/interpretation (and therefore also the implementation) of each of these options is agency-specific. Some agencies have implemented some:
NLB: choice-of-colophon (I'm not sure why they didn't call it colophon-metadata-placement, but I assume it is similar)
Also note that NLB has a fallback mechanism that tried to place the footnotes at the bottom of the page, and if one or more notes takes too much space to be rendered at the bottom of the page, they are all moved to the end of the volume. There is also a transcriber's note saying where the notes are placed. Because of this fallback mechanism NLB didn't need the "Footnotes placement" option.
