The Mac seems to give some issue with openmp. When running the code, it appears as only 1 processor is running.
This website suggests a solution (libomp compiled with Xcode)...
https://mac.r-project.org/openmp/

It has worked on my machines, for now. So maybe this can be added in the readme file regarding installation steps
