Retrozilla fails to start on Win95

I've copied the Retrozilla 2.2 installer from the releases page to my Pentium 100 system running Win95 OSR2.0; the installation succeeds but Retrozilla fails to start. I see the splash screen for a couple of seconds but that's it. Nothing else happens.

I chose to have the taskbar helper run at startup. The icon is displayed in the taskbar, but as soon as I hover my mouse over the icon it disappears.

The machine has 32MB of RAM. I've increased the virtual memory size up to 96MB but that hasn't helped.

I can't figure out how to get Retrozilla to generate a log file or otherwise enable a debug mode. Retrozilla.exe doesn't seem to accept any commandline parameters either. Starting it from a command prompt window didn't provide any console output either.

The installer is broken, try extracting the files from the zip archive available at the releases page.

Can confirm, seeing the same thing on a fresh install of 98 FE and after the upgrade to 98 SE.

i confirm this is still happening on my toshiba libretto 50ct with windows 95 C
