[ISSUE]: black screen | Frozen screen | latest beta 1.2.0 #1456
Comments
If I'm not mistaken, betas generated from 2100 are no longer compatible with previous configurations |
@mystyq I'm pretty sure this incompatibility wasn't anticipated, so there wasn't any kind of warning. |
strange, always a blackscreen, both ps2 units scph 3xxxx ntscj |
You cleared the settings from previous betas before starting the new version, right? Have you tested it on other versions, such as Beta 2049 |
hi, it's a freshly formatted card, no history of previous configs |
Have you tested version 2049? |
Hi, I've recently just picked up an mx4sio in the last day and moved from 1.1.0 to the 1.2.0 betas for exfat support and have encounted the exact same issue where OPL starting for first time with NO config files freezes with black screen. My PS2 Config is as follows During testing of beta builds. I am fully deleting all config files between builds |
This solution gets this version(Link below) to boot, but has issues displaying games without using hdl batch or winhip which from what I understand is no longer necessary for v 1.2. Not too sure about that. Also has a setting save issue. I may have the solution if you're still looking for one. I was struggling to update the opl version from just 1.0 to 1.1 for bout 3 days lol. Finally, today I was able to launch 1.1 so i decided to try 1.2. it worked. However, after moving it from MC0 to mass, it stopped working (black screen). Even after putting it back in MC0. Took me about an hour to figure out how to get it working again. Essentially the same problem as you converting 1.1 to 1.2, getting black screen. Solution to my situation:
You can now go back and delete v 1.1 or any other versions of opl from your mem card if you would like. Keep CFG files. Unless you really want to mess around and figure out how to put opl on mass or hdd, I would advise keeping it on your mem card. I would dive into it more and see what's possible, but this has given me such a headache. Just glad it works. Let me know if this helped you! :) |
Many problems are happening with the latest betas (2197 and 2199), so for that reason stay on 2194 beta |
You have link to 2194 beta? |

I will test it |
confirming OPNPS2LD-v1.2.0-Beta-2194-a626d98.ELF btw, just a little context, using a knockoff non genuine ps2 16mb MC, not sure if that matters. just found a quirk, i enabled bdm, saved config. |
