There seems to still be an issue with the Prototype $ and JQuery $ conflicting:

When I tried to implement today's latest commit of the widget into
Arachne, it worked. Well, more or less. Sometimes the Arachne menu
still disappears, and sometimes the Widget won't work. But this only
happens erratically,I can't really reproduce it.

Karen from Arachne has sent me a test URL for this problem.

Added test case - using the latest version rather than the version of prototype that Arachne uses seems to get rid of the error.
