I'm Jesse! A 42yo fan of lego with two small boys 4 & 6. We have thousands of lego and we like to find instructions on Rebrickable for sets we can build with the pieces we have (we ignore color, of course). As such, we sort our lego by hand into about 25 different categories. But my boys hate sorting. I wish a machine would do this for us! I had seen some experimental lego sorting machines online, but knew I could never build one. So I was OVERJOYED when I discovered your project! And begged my wife for months to let me spend the hundreds of dollars for the parts to try and get this working. So excited to be getting to work on this project. I was a computer science major at UC Berkeley in 2000-2004, BUT I wasn't very good and I promptly never worked in Comp Sci after 2005. Although I had a brief stint doing some front-end dev for a company back in 2017-ish. So I gained some git experience, some command line, some Rails actually. I know enough to be a little dangerous, but not enough to even remotely hang with pbackx. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR STARTING THIS PROJECT! I LOVE IT! I hope I can figure it out some day. |
