Error when running sunbird-ED portal server on local. #63

I followed all the steps mentioned here -> https://ed.sunbird.org/use-1/install-locally/sunbirded-portal
However, when I run npm run server, I get the following error.

You can try the following solutions :

Set env Variables

export sunbird_environment="local"
export sunbird_instance="sunbird"
export sunbird_default_channel="sunbird"
export sunbird_default_tenant="sunbird"

or check if setup is done correctly also check if jwtHelper.js , devConfig.js ,environmentvariables.js is present

What is the OS you are using ? also which branch have you checked out?

Try running nodemon instead of ng build in client

I am using windows 10 home.
Branch - master
I am able to follow all the steps mentioned in local installation instructions here correctly except the gulp download:editors command which throws error

Then finally npm run server gives the below output/error

I also can't find these files (jwtHelper.js , devConfig.js ,environmentvariables.js) in my repo

You need to take this files from the people in your organization who have done this setup previously or need to setup them by yourself .

I feel a little lost here, I am setting sunbird up for the first time on behalf of my organization. I will be happy to set up the mentioned files myself but I have troubles understanding how these files are supposed to look. Can I not get a working development application on my local without these files? If you could please provide me sample files which can help me set up a working application on my local, that will be great.

Also, any solutions for this error (as asked above)? Task never defined: download:editors

@harryadwani please ignore this step to $ gulp download:editors that is a deprecated step now I will be updating the process in the readme

@harryadwani There are three files which are supposed to be configured as part of your repo. Kindly mail us at [email protected]. These files will be provided to you individually if you want to get connected with existing system.
Couple of Queries:
a) Could you help us with environment you want to get connected to?
b) Kindly let us know if you have sunbird instance of your own?
c) As far as solution for download:editors @rajeevsathish can you help

Currently we don't have a cloud deployment of sunbird yet. I was just trying to set it up on my local machine in development environment so that I can explore it.
