In this meeting, we discussed more details about each of the top groups of use cases.
We seemed to have 4 major types of use cases:
Portals - items surrounding the design, implementation, and standardization of traversal links throughout the metaverse.
Design Systems - concepts around the standardization of UX strategies, UI patterns, and ethical practices for the metaverse.
Accessibility - creating accountability and practicality for implementing inclusive design in the metaverse.
Daily Activities - empowering and translating the 'mundane' but important everyday tasks people do in real life into the metaverse.
But as we went through these (especially the first two), we realized that many of these use cases share something in common: there are already existing standards and projects addressing these use cases.M3.org's Awesome Metaverse Project was one such example of this.
Therefore, we have a 5th 'use case' that may end up being the best place to start:
Central Repo - bringing together all of the current projects attempting to solve these issues already. We could add to those repos, fork them, or even just spotlight them more.
Regardless, we would really like to hear what the community at large would like this research group to focus on first.
