Project

QuantEcon

Observations

QuantEcon has some GPU use cases and we are currently using GitHub machines to run our CI pipelines. A couple of months back, we were using AWS which costed around $7k-8k annually and now experimenting with GitHub provided machines. We are looking for some cloud credits that provide GPU machines for running our CI jobs.

We have a few ways to get credits:

  • AWS Credit for Nonprofit for $5K

    • will probably need to separate your account from the main NF account and apply that way.
    • will not cover your full cost but maybe your project account can cover the rest.
  • AWS Credit for Research Student awards will be up to a maximum of $5,000.00. Faculty and Staff awards are not capped.

    • Are there any participants that would be Faculty or Staff at a research institution?
  • Promotional Credit for a specific scope or purpose agreed between you and AWS (as mentioned here)

    • Requires us to contact AWS Sales teams. This has been spotty in the past but I can connect with folks we talked with in the past.

    @kp992 how should we proceed?

Thanks @aterrel for listing all the possible options. We would like to go with option 2: AWS Credit for Research.

Okay, can you send me email address of all who need to be involved? I can start a thread with the AWS contact I'm working with ITK on.
