I'm using perfomance profiles and power saving mode is turned off.

Only the animation lags. Perhaps it is possible to make it possible to move to the next image without animation by clicking in the right/left zone of the viewer?

I think this is substantially underselling the effects. I have a Samsung S23 Ultra, and the app is basically unusable after 2 or 3 pages worth of posts.

Maybe due to the Flutter framework they've used, and needs optimization to avoid stuttery on scrolling.

Me, I disabled the blur in settings and it improved quite well, but the lag still persist on longer periods without restarting the app. Mine using an old phone with Helio P23 SoC, 3GB of RAM, Android 9.

The app is still completely unusable, by the way. I'm going to download some alternative until this one is functional again.
