The JMS client connection timeout

Hello,

Can someone please advise how to make the jmsclient to detect connectivity issues and set up specific timeouts ?
Unfortuantely, currently the client hangs on to a connection for very long time ( over 15minutes and longer ) if the connection to the server breaks.
Also, in case of the connectivity issues between the server and client, when the client tries to release the resources and disconnect , it also can hang for a very long time doing that.
