# Laravel Quickstart
- download the Laravel framework
composer create-project laravel/laravel inventory
- create .env file
- Generate key
php artisan key:generate
- create login and registration controller and views
php artisan make:auth
- create database 
dbname: inventory 
collation: utf8mb4_general_ci
- create mysql user
username=homestead
password=secret
- Edit AppServiceProvider.php file and inside the boot method set a default string length
use Illuminate\Support\Facades\Schema;

    Schema::defaultStringLength(191);
}
- Deploy migration files
php artisan migrate
- Create Model "item" with migration file
php artisan make:model --migration Item
- Create controller of ItemController
php artisan make:controller BookController --resource
