Background

Cytoscape is a popular network visualization tool used by biologists and bioinformaticians. It has been described as a "swiss army knife" software tool, however. Both a strength and weakness, it can do LOTS of things, but new users don't know where to start and advances users are constantly discovering new, useful tricks that they wish they had known earlier.

We have done a lot over the last couple years to put together a new tutorial collection site. It's helping, but needs a lot of work. It is rapidly growing into a looooong single page of content and links.

Goals

  • A new design for this growing collection of tutorials
  • Updated content descriptions and orientation
  • A process for adding new content to maintain consistency

Technical Skills

  • GitHub wiki markdown syntax (nice to have)

Hi, @AlexanderPico I would like to take this up for GSoD '20. I've sent you an email regarding this :)

The best application for this project would include links to tutorials you have written in the past, e.g., hands-on exercises, "getting started" documentation and training portals, etc. The best application would also include a review of the tutorial site we currently have (link in project description) and specific recommendations for improvements.

Please be aware: this is a technical writing project, not a code writing project.
