I'm actually having the opposite problem with HomePod 🙃
Sometimes music will start playing after the announcement even though it wasn't playing before.

This used to work perfectly with my Apple HomePod Minis but recently I’ve found that after making the required announcement, music will start playing when there was no music playing before the announcement. I understand that it is supposed to resume music if it was playing before the announcement and this is the main reason why I use this integration. However, it should not play music if it wasn’t playing beforehand.

Sometimes music will start playing after the announcement even though it wasn't playing before.

An observation that might help to narrow down this issue is that the media player in home assistant retains its playing state even after the announcement has finished.

Somebody actually raised this issue for the HomePod integration in the home assistant's core repo.

Nice find @maxkattner The ATV/HomePod integration (it's base library being pyatv) seems to be largely handled by one guy, and it seems like he probably doesn't have a lot of time to dedicate to the project lately so there are some bugs that aren't being fixed (or fixed quickly at least). (To be clear, I don't blame him, it seems like a large undertaking and it would be great is someone else could help - I myself don't have the knowledge/time unfortunately).
