Hello! I really like the idea behind this project and I really hope it comes to completion. I always saw the fediverse combined with 3rd party apps as a solution to the social media issues we see today. I'm glad someone has taken the initiative to build something.
I would like to assist in whatever way I can. When I tried to install the android app by the instructions on the main page it wouldn't work. I installed the expo android app on calyx os, created an account, and then tried to scan the qr code. That's as far as I have gotten, it will just look at the QR code and it won't do anything. Is there a step I'm missing?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hey! this project has been dormant for a while, as you can probably tell.

What might be the issue you're facing with the QR code is that the way the image is cropped makes it really difficult to scan it when you have the dark theme enabled on GitHub. That probably needs to be fixed. That being said, even if you do manage to scan the QR code, you'll notice that the version of the Expo SDK the app is running is now way too old to be compatible with the latest version of the Expo app.

The last time I seriously sat down to work on this project, my goal was to do away with Expo entirely. I guess I never got around to finishing that

I've intended to start working and hopefully finish this project several times over the last year, all unsuccessfully, so at this point I'm not sure how much energy I have to dedicate to it. It is, however, getting pretty near to completion. If you want to see it completed, then I can definitely help you get started.

If you're interested in writing code, I should note that this is mostly just a read-only mirror of this repository on Codeberg, which is where development is happening. If you want to talk more about getting started and how you can help, send me an email at my Github username @ njms.ca, as I'll don't check my GitHub notifications very often
