Elmo Platinum Twitter JSD + FSoE

Hi all,

First thanks for your work on JSD it's a great library and has make getting started with the Elmo controllers significantly more straightforward than it otherwise would be!

I'm after some advice, my application is using the Elmo controllers with a safety PLC (the FSoE master) using FSoE for communication. Has anyone used JSD/SOEM with a mixed EtherCAT/FSoE network before?

I'm trying to see if it's feasible to use JSD as the non-safe master in this type of network. As far as I understand so far it just needs to manage the state transitions and set up the slave-to-slave communications for the FSoE devices on the network.

Glad you found it useful!

I have not used the FSoE so I cannot advise. It appears to modify how the PDO map is constructed so it could go either way.

I can say that the developers over at SOEM are very responsive and helpful, perhaps someone has already posed this question or they might have experience with it. I would feel comfortable saying that if SOEM supports it, JSD will as well.
