Bug Description

Gemini Models do not Support Function Calling

To Reproduce

Add an AI Agent Node and any tool , use gemini, and it will not call any tools even if instructed to do so.

Expected behavior

Tool calling to work.

Operating System

Linux 22.0.4

We have created an internal ticket to look into this which we will be tracking as "N8N-8026"

Hi @kn0wledge -- Can you provide a bit more information? What Gemini model did you use? What tools did you connect to your agent? It would even work best if you can provide a minimal example as a JSON object. I was able to execute gemini 1.0-pro from n8n with a tool, and that worked fine.

Gemini might have issues with tools that don't have any parameters though, so if you have a tool that doesn't specify any parameters to specify from the agent, you may need to look into that.
