If you're here because something basic is not working (like gamepad input, video, or similar), it's probably something specific to your setup, so make sure you've gone through the Troubleshooting Guide first: https://github.com/moonlight-stream/moonlight-docs/wiki/Troubleshooting
If you still have trouble with basic functionality after following the guide, join our Discord server where there are many other volunteers who can help (or direct you back here if it looks like a Moonlight bug after all). https://moonlight-stream.org/discord
Describe the bug
I have the weirdest issue after I switched to sunshine/apollo. I'm gonna go into detail since I first opened a bug report on the sunshine git and I somehow feel like they didn't really understand the problem.
So if I set my moonlight resolution to full (not safe area) the expected behavior and the way it works with nvidia gamestream is that the actual image is stretched out to fill the screen. However, on sunshine and derivatives the image remains 16:9.
People are calling me an asshole for considering this NOT the way it should work and they might be right, but how can I get the desired result I want on non gamestream servers?
Steps to reproduce
No special steps, works "as intended" with gamestream.
Screenshots
Screenshots are from my phone not from the server.
Seeing the problem might help, so here is gamestream:
And here is sunshine/apollo:
Other Moonlight clients
Does the issue occur when using Moonlight on PC or Android?
I don't know I only tested on my iphone for now.
Moonlight settings (please complete the following information)
Happens irregardless of settings really it's so weird.
Device details (please complete the following information)
iOS 18.2 Iphone 16 Pro
Server PC details (please complete the following information)
OS: Windows 10 latest
GeForce Experience version: latest
Nvidia GPU driver: 566.14
Antivirus and firewall software: Windows Defender and Windows Firewall
Some additional notes:
I just realized that on iOS there is no stretch to full screen option. I thought that the FULL option was essentially the stretch to fullscreen option and weirdly enough works exactly as I imagined on gamestream.
