Overview

Refunds in Shopware 6 may be done through administration per order. Just open an order that payment status is paid or partial refunded.

Adding a refund (full or partial) takes up to 2 hours at Mollie.

In this time you may cancel the refund if you want. After that time has passed however, a webhook will be fired which automatically updates the orders in Shopware accordingly.

Full refunds

Full refunds may be done, if you set the payment status of an order to refunded.

Afterwards Mollie is notified to execute a full refund.

Partial refunds

Partial refunds may be done in the administration in the order detail page.

There is a new button "Refund through mollie" in the order lines section. This will open the refund management tool of the order.

Clicking on the button opens a new modal with a quick overview over the mollie payments and refunds for this order.

There you may enter an amount that should be refunded.

Beware it takes up to 2 hours before a refund is done by Mollie. In the meantime the refunds are marked as "pending".

Pending refunds may be cancelled by you in the Shopware administration or in the Mollie dashboard.

First click the three dots on the right side of your refund. A little context menu opening.

Click on "Cancel this refund" and the refund is cancelled at Mollie.

Troubleshooting

Refund with Discounts and Promotions

Shopware creates a separate line item for cart discounts.

This means that your discount will not be considered if you do a partial refund only on a single product line item.

The amount to be refunded does also somehow depend on what you, as a merchant, prefer in that situation. So let's imagine "buy 3 same t-shirts and get 1 FREE". The customer then returns 1 item - what would you refund - 1 full price, 1/3rd price or NOTHING?

The only solution is to do a refund with a custom amount that you, as a merchant, can approve and use.

This can be done in the order view within the Shopware Administration or directly in the Mollie Dashboard.
