Can you hard sub videos using srt file?

I tried dragging srt file into the program and it does the detect the file in the track list, but I don't know how to turn it on.

hard subbing is not possible (it's not lossless). you can soft-include a srt as a separate track by drag dropping the file, but you need to use an output format that supports srt (like matroska)
