As Windows PowerShell ISE is being retired, I have tried to find a replacement.
I love VScode, however the I have found it to sometimes be buggy, with is okay if I am taking my time developing a script, but when I need more day to day ops stuff, I need a reliable terminal, and PowerShell ISE I found great for that role, especially the script pane which allowed me to view and make minor edits to scripts, and run them and other commands from one place.
I have started using Windows Terminbal more for that, but due to the lack of the script pane, I find I only use it for running one off commands or using tools/cmdletts in modules I have made.
As we can already split tabs into panes in Windows Terminal, I wonder if it is doable to have a text editor run from a pane?
I aired this idea on Twitter and have also had it suggested that a CLI app that could be started in a pane may work also!
Just floating this idea to see if anyone else thinks it would be useful, or for it to be shot down due to some issue I can't see :)
Thanks
