Compiling a hello world class library for .NET 8 fails while .NET 6 succeeds.
The csproj file:

<Project Sdk="Microsoft.NET.Sdk">

  <PropertyGroup>
    <TargetFramework>net8.0</TargetFramework>
    <ImplicitUsings>enable</ImplicitUsings>
    <Nullable>enable</Nullable>
    <OutDir>bin</OutDir>
    <NodeApiAssemblyJSModuleType>commonjs</NodeApiAssemblyJSModuleType>
  </PropertyGroup>

  <ItemGroup>
    <PackageReference Include="Microsoft.JavaScript.NodeApi.Generator" Version="0.8.16" />
  </ItemGroup>

</Project>
