I am currently running on premise agent version 3.248.0 and for some reason they all seem to be downgrading themshelves to V3.238 and not restarting and therefore i have to manually restart them.
This is the message i get:
Downgrading agent to a lower version. This is usually due to a rollback of the currently published agent for a bug fix. To disable this behavior, set environment variable AZP_AGENT_DOWNGRADE_DISABLED=true before launching your agent.
Agent update in progress, do not shutdown agent.
Downloading 3.238.0 agent
Waiting for current job finish running.
Generate and execute update script.
Agent will exit shortly for update, should back online within 10 seconds.
Is there really an issue with v3.248.0?
I would like to avoid having to play with the environment variable...
If it may help we are using Azure DevOps Server 2022.2 (AzureDevopsServer_20240806.7)
Thank you,
Eric

Just to add more information which might be pertinent. I believe that the version which i am being downgraded to is the latest one which is downloadable from my on premise server:
Of course i would like to be able to install the latest agent but maybe this is by design?
What happened?
