Does this occur consistently?
Repro steps:

Action: azextAgent.activate
Error type: Error
Error Message: Failed to acquire .NET runtime. Please report an issue and share the output from the redacted:url Install Tool' output channel.

Version: 0.3.97
OS: darwin
OS Release: 24.2.0
Product: Visual Studio Code
Product Version: 1.96.4

Thank you for reporting this. This is a duplicate of 123 This extension relies on .Net which may fail to install. Please follow the steps to manually install .Net.
