Tax Reporting

PP is a great program but although tax reporting is out of scope it holds most of the data and it's readily available. It's good to see one of the initial reports is for tax reporting.

One issue I have is the Australian tax year runs from 1 July to 30 June (so 2025 Financial Year started 1 July 2024). I understand this also occurs in other countries. This pretty well means the PP annual report are of little value.

Anther issue is the last ETF trust distributions are received early in the new financial year, say within three months. The Trust distribution issue also occurs in countries where tax is aligned to the calendar year.

The outcome is I'd like to report all income in the Financial Year it is received, unless the security is recorded as a trust where I'd like to close the financial year off say 3 months later.
