Feature request: Character count of current section

We have word count of current section (by heading), great!

For many documents, we rather need character count.
(Which we currently have to do manually...)

Second that, I find that for many applications a max character count is more often used then a max word count.

Same. Maybe even have the option to append the chars count to the already implemented word count. something like this 500/3200

I’d love to see this added. Maybe even use the same logic already implemented in the status bar feature where we can decide ourselves what to display? Personally, I am looking for character count & word count, possibly add reading time into the mix.
